Way better than chain coffee stores. They get to know your name and what you like to drink. It's family there.

Trader Joe's opening soon (Oct, Nov 2007?) at old Albertson's location. Makes sense: Owner of Trader Joe's is Theo Albrecht (#20 on Forbes World Billionaire's List - http://www.forbes.com/lists/2007/10/07billionaires_Theo-Albrecht_787P.html) who owns an 8% chunk of Albertsons.
Construction/remodeling of site is in progress now. Good thing - the previous store was pretty ratty, so the new store will be spiffy.
Hopefully it will take the pressure off the crowding at the Emeryville store. There is also a TJs going in at the old Albertsons on College Ave near Rockridge BART.
