Not a secure place, had my catalytic converter stolen here, so park at your own risk.
  • U.S. Post Office, homeboy wrote 17 years ago:
Small office with 2 windows, but generally there aren't many patrons so its quick to go in and out.
  • Oakland Library - Asian Branch, homeboy wrote 17 years ago:

Best tasting municipal water I ever had. They also offer permits to hike or ride horses in their protected water sheds. Check out the recreational area of their website.

Way better than chain coffee stores. They get to know your name and what you like to drink. It's family there.

  • Trader Joe's, 3rdbillygoat (guest) wrote 18 years ago:
Trader Joe's opening soon (Oct, Nov 2007?) at old Albertson's location. Makes sense: Owner of Trader Joe's is Theo Albrecht (#20 on Forbes World Billionaire's List - http://www.forbes.com/lists/2007/10/07billionaires_Theo-Albrecht_787P.html) who owns an 8% chunk of Albertsons. Construction/remodeling of site is in progress now. Good thing - the previous store was pretty ratty, so the new store will be spiffy. Hopefully it will take the pressure off the crowding at the Emeryville store. There is also a TJs going in at the old Albertsons on College Ave near Rockridge BART.
